Hospice is a uniquely special way of caring for the terminally ill which provides not only physical and emotional comfort, but spiritual and social care, too, for the patient, family and significant others. Quality of life is our goal and we offer the finest, full-family care program available in Vidalia and 14 surrounding counties.

Outpatient Care
Community Hospice’s total team care recognizes the needs of the patient, the family, and friends because a terminal illness creates various types of stress and responsibilities. An interdisciplinary team of caregivers will work with you and your family to offer as much support as you request including the following range of services:
Range of Services
- Physical: bathing, dressing, meal preparation, exercise, and housekeeping
- Emotional: providing understanding and counseling to manage emotions
- Social: ensuring that the patient has access to social activity as his/her condition comfortably warrants, to remain connected to others
- Spiritual: chaplains help the patient, his/her family, and friends, and manage the spiritual anxieties that accompany a terminal illness

Respite Care
Over 50 million people in the United States alone are selflessly caring for loved ones at home. When these family members or friends themselves need support, we can provide “respite care,” which is a short break from the demands of caregiving. When the primary caregivers have to schedule their own doctor’s appointments, an out-of-town trip, a medical procedure, etc., Community Hospice can keep the patient at the Hospice House for five consecutive nights for each respite care stay. We are pleased to be able to provide a patient’s caregivers with days of relief in the form of skilled hospice worker services as often as necessary.
